    Guys,

After couple of decades Im faced with the unpleasant decision to give up my planted tank. I have advanced cancer of the tongue and am physically unable to take care of the tank besides the medical bills which have been piling up.

I have a custom made 5X2X2 N30 tank (Wee Yang) set up with Fluval FX6, Eheim Pro and Eheim filters, 2 CO2 tanks, CO2 reactor, pumps etc besides TK1000 chiller. Substrate is sand with upper layer of 8 bags of ADA Amazonia2, and the set up has the usual tetra family with Amano shrimp etc.
My total investment in this has crossed $5K.

What should do to I sell the whole set up (working right now) for and how do I do it?

Due to the radiation I cannot speak or swallow so on tube feeds, so cant really manage selling off piece by piece.
My total investment in this has crossed $5K.

    I need advice asap please!

Tank needs to be torn down and emptied out. There is no way to avoid that. If you do not have assistance, agree on a price with the buyer and let the buyer take on all responsibilities on moving.

Might be difficult to get a buyer to take everything. Another option is to arrange multiple buyers to go over your place to decom the tank and take which ever they are interested...but need extra works

5x2x2 isn't illegal... I applied to HDB for a 6ft tank and got approved.

Lucky you, I applied for 5x2x2ft was rejected. I was told total max weight allowed only 600kg per room. Maybe new HDB have higher tolerance.

How much weight did you put on the application?
6x2x2ft is already 680 liters, plus the weight of the glass, cabinet, etc will be more than 1000kg

No my case was different as I live in a condo and that too on the ground floor. First/Ground floor without basement means there is no need to worry about load bearing capacity. If I was living in a higher floor I would have to be careful on where to place it. In which case it would have to be in a corner between two load bearing walls.
