    Hi

My inlet and lily pipe is on the left front of the tank, close to each other, while the fan is positioned at the right rear of tank. This creates a good circular flow due to the fan wind itself aiding the circular flow.

Due to my blyxa aubertti at the left rear of tank growing big and long that resulted in their leaves pointing towards the front of the tank, instead of towards right, I have repositioned my fan to the left rear of tank. However, this appeared to act counter productive in terms of the circular flow since the fan wind now appeared to become a resistance from my top view of wave.

May I have your advices on whether my above circular flow thoughts relative to the change in the placement of the fan is sound.

Do you place your fans on opposing ends or the same side?

    Thks.

I think same side also can. You can place the fan at the left front, just next to the lily pipes.

Not enough space leh due to the lighting holder, Jacky.

To add on to my earlier description, the fan is blowing from left to right side currently and previously from right to left side.

Re: Should you place fan on the same side of the lily pipe?

Oh I see. Due to lighting holder.

You can think about switching side of lily pipes to the right front, then fan to the left rear? That should be ok with the flow?

IMO, as long as the fan crossing surface water along the long side of tank, water can be cool down. Lily pipe is strong enough to circulate water underneath the surface. Of course, optimal is to put the fan direction follow the flow current.

You are welcome, Victor. With the photo, I think would be easier to imagine. Haha.
