Hi guys I hv a problem, I hv abt a dozen shrimps in my planted tank with soil that buffers the ph to around 6,after a few months of jus setting the tank up I had a horrible planaria and worm infection and they all burrowed on the soil, I guess maybe I've been feeding the shrimps too much or maybe I jus didn't clean the tank well enough. How exactly do u clean substrate tanks or some people say that leaving the poop in the soil helps the plants and stuff, so I'm a bit confused

many folks used undergravel filter as their initial set up to remove waste in the soil. but since you already started, I guess it is best to leave it as it is.

Would it be better to jus hv a bare bottomed tank to keep shrimp
In case you didn't realize this is the introduction folder so a big Hi!
To answer your question. Just go over the substrate with the gravel cleaner just close enough to suck up the dirt and not stir it like most people would do for a sand only tank.
Suckerfish no eat poo poo.
How would you clean a sand tank
