Seeing is believing. What is holding her back from giving birth? I put her in breeder box, and waited but she still didn't give a shit. I return her to the tank and she continued to gorge hungrily whenever I fed other fishes. Are there mikey mouse platy that are as chubby as this? What am I supposed to do? She was so over bloated her scales nearly popped.

Tank size: 2ft (heavily planted nana), crytocoryne, and some java mosses tucked behind the driftwood of my nana plants. I also threw in some bio ceramic rings to act as filter and hiding places (for any small fries.)

Fishes: - 8 lampeyes, 9 cherrybarbs, 4 cory, 5 guppies, 4 female platies, 3 males platies, 5 amano shrimps. All heavily fed few meals a day (with expensive sera tab, New Life spectrum pellets, flake food, Algae tab).

    Anyone similar encounter here?

Fatal for the fish , separate it now from the others to prevent infection !

The last pic showing its body bloated and its scales popping out certainly looks like dropsy. I would quickly do a "ice snd freezing water treatment" to end its suffering immediately.

Thanks for all the replies, indeed it must be dropsy, a new term I just learned. I don't think I want to end her life since she has been swimming actively and eating with others. No sign of her feeling stressed, lethargic or "half dead". But I did notice the male has been chasing her around.
