    Re: Greetings

    Hello There.

What would you like to know about aquascaping?

In a nutshell, aquascaping is the art of creating an underwater garden or ‘aquascape’ in a tank or vessel with aquatic plants and other materials, with or without fish. The humble fish-tank aquarium ‘decoration’ has evolved into an art form of its own, where the emphasis is on re-creating a very realistic, natural underwater scene as opposed to a more base affair… using neon gravels, bubbling treasure-chests and plastic plants!

There are several types of aquascaping styles, and those who engage in this art form, take it very seriously and compete (mainly in the USA, Japan and Canada) in competitions to be hailed as king or queen of the indoor, underwater garden landscapers. Aquascaped tanks are more than just a talking piece to show off beautiful plants and unusual fish – the masters of this art are able to create an almost dreamlike, ethereal quality within the scene, that when you look into these tanks, you feel like you have been transported underwater into a dreamy, underwater garden vista with ‘trees’, hills and fields, all to scale and with depth and intricate detail.
