I think that should be fine. I know some even use brick to create the height in aquascaping tank. Pumice is even better with lots of area for beneficial bacteria to build up their population.

A cheaper alternative as compared to pumice is to use smaller sized lava rocks. By the way does anyone know if plant nurseries in s'pore sell pumice? I tried looking for them at the nurseries at serangoon area a few yrs back but couldn't find any.

I used to buy them at C328. Placed together with medias at front row shelves near entrance. Used them to make ‘poor man’s ADA powersand’ and also create height at the back
Thanks for sharing your comments.
Aquarius, you can get them at nursery along bah soon pah road. I bought mine there.
I was actually looking for small size lava rocks but they don't sell this. If any one knows where to buy this let me know. The Jalan lekar shop used to carry but unsure they still in business. Anyone been there recently? Hate to make a long trip for nothing.
I'm also interested in the Jalan Lekar one! Please let me know if anyone going next saturday
Happened to come across Pumice here https://lushgro.myshopify.com/collec...s/pumic-stones The size is quite small
