Aponogeton ulvaceus And bulb size

Just realised that I had planted a small aponogeton ulvaceus bulb in the front-mid of tank. would I smaller bulb suggest a smaller plant? Otherwise, is there a way to control this plant's growth before it takes over the whole tank?

I had a bulb about the size of a chestnut. The plant grew damn fast with leaves over 70cm in length. Would suggest shifting to background.
