Hi, is this ketapang tree and the leaves?

Can't really tell from the tree but the leaves look like it. When dried it gives off a scent a little like tobacco. I regularly collect the leaves from sungei tengah since I live in CCK. It is for my black water tank.

I actually thought it's ketapang too based on the shape of the leaves. However the tree looks so big. Can ketapang tree grow until so big?

Yes, this tree can reach 20 to 35 metres in height.

Look out for the seeds on the ground, as well as the pagoda-like shape of the crown.

If you visit Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, there's a very tall ketapang growing at the start of the Main Bridge. Don't know how tall it is, but it's certainly a very impressive tree.
