Hi, my spiky moss started off fluffy but is now growing very thinly. Very sparse fronds with very short and wispy thin growth. I am using tropica fert with pro z led lights, excel and no chiller.

Any idea what usually cause such problems with moss? I used to grow it perfectly well in such conditions.. Not sure what is wrong now. Appreciate all your help. Thank you!

    Re: Spiky moss growing thinly

When I first started this hobby, moss was advertised as a beginner plant. I later found out that they all forgot to tell you that you need chiller and some co2 to grow lush, thick and green moss. Unless of course, your office or room is air con, then no need.

News already reported last month that our weather have reached another "high". It's heat wave all year round this year if you hadn't notice. My 185L 3 feet tank is 30 degrees since Jan without fan. On very hot days, it's 32 degrees.

To be lush, Co2 is really needed for compact growth.
