My first attempt at planted tank (started on 9 Apr 05), not sure whether this is abnormal or strange but the red plant (dunno the name) in front of the drift wood is growing at an amazing or rather shocking rate, freaking my kids out. Comments?

Not really sure about the cost, bought together with some of the other plants in my tank, paid $10 for a bag. Find that Teo's plants rather nice with wide selection and price is very reasonable. They are very friendly and helpful, advises on suitability. Only negative point is, it's out of the way in ulu LCK.

suxthumb, you might want to cut away the surface leaf, more leaves with grow towards the surface and in no time cover the surface, greatly reducing light penetration

Thanks for the advice, intend to do that later. However, is it "normal" for the lotus to have such fast growth rate? 1 feet in 2 days?

    suxthumb,

That's a Queen of Siam water lily. As Simon said, the growth rate is normal... but it's ok as it's an easy plant to prune.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

The flower of Queen of Siam is really beautiful.

Just called Keong Seong and found out that they have no stock and Teo farm is so far away.

Does anybody know which LFS has stock now?

    Cheers
