    Re: Apisto pair

How small are your endlers? Some apistos will eat smaller fish (friends and myself have lost fish as big as ember tetras to apisto predation). Apistogramma species come in many sizes. Some of them are stay quite small and will be fine with endlers, especially if the endlers were in the tank already before the apistos are added. (Somehow, newcomers to the tank are more likely to be seen as food than prior inhabitants.)

I am more concerned about the endlers fry. May the the smallest apisto species as possible. Any recommendations?

    Re: Apisto pair

The smallest apisto will be A. diplotaenia.

Taeniacara candidi is very similar to apistos and is quite small too, and more easily available.

    A. trifasciata is also quite small and is readily available.

I think all endler fry will fit into apisto mouths. Maybe the apisto female will mistake them for her own fry and guard them. It's not unheard of for female apistos to guard various weird things, e.g. clumps of tubifex worms.

All in all though... I'm not optimistic.
