Depends on the size of the tank and whether it has been cycled.
i only do 10% water change weekly.
But the latest water change I did was 30% because i found out that my TDS was 250 and KH=4 and GH=9.
After the 30% water change, the water parameters now changed to TDS=199 KH=3 GH=6.
Water I used to refill was the NTUC Pure distilled water.
After the water change, I bought some new neocardinia shrimps from LFS and was drip acclimated for 1 hour with 1 drop per second.
then the day after, I found two shrimps died.
now i don't want to do water changes anymore.
Small Nano tanks have always been very popular. But, what LFS don't tell you is that the smaller the tank, the less stable water parameters are. I asked you % of WC, cause I kinda expected they died when you did the WC. 30% on small tank = KO. Not even 10% for a 18L tank I think. The problem with test kit is they only reflect actual parameters after maybe 1 day, so in that mean time, there could be lots of TDS/PH/Ammonia/Temperature swings already.
If you want Nano tank, then it would be like CRS Haven that kind. Those Ecco type setup with wonder shrimps with no water change.
