Hi guys! its been a few years since my venture into reefing and im finally back into planted!

i've lost touch and alot of things have changed! hope this scape turns out well.

    Substrate

ADA Aquasoil 9L & ANS planta soil 2L

    Plant list

    Monte Carlo
    Alternanthera Reineckii 'mini'

    blyxa japonica

    all planted and filling up..

This is 1 day after planting

i initially bought few pots of rotala rotoundifolia for the back, but while planting them, found out that its rather difficult to do so due to the limited area of clearance i have since this tank is in a display cabinet, so to save me the trouble future when it comes to trimming, i've decided to swap out for blyxa japonica and AR mini for the back. And with only actual height of about 10-12cm (less the soil), stem plants will need trimming way too often.

However, since i already bought tropica's rotala bonsai and rotala vietnam H'ra and they are rather expensive, i decided to use them anyway, rotala bonsai should stay small and short, while H'ra should creep given the high lighting.

Im thinking of buying emmersed xmas moss and placing them on the area where the wood protrudes..

Thats all for now folks, thanks for viewing!

Its been a good 4 months and i apologize for not updating! a few changes made here and there throughout the months! biggest change was the change of foreground plant from MC to HC!

The altums u see here are just quarantining and will be shifting to their 422 home next week!

Im glad i managed to keep eriocaulon quinquangular & vomit blood alive! though im facing with alot of BBA issues!

Busy ( actually lazy) till i simply let the rotala bonsai grow beyong water level..

Fought a long hard battle of BBA and hair algae throughout the first 2 months of the set up because my chihiros was set at 100%. simply too much light for this shallow tank.. Now at 60%, all the algaes are pratically gone except BBA!

Wow. I knew it! The tank has turned out so beautifully! Great job!

I love the Rotala bonsai that popping out of the water! Really nice to look at!

Keep updating and share on your journal bro.

BTW, have you tried putting SAE in the tank for BBA elimination? I got one and it works really well.

Venson, will you be using ADA soil for that project? Powder or normal type?

I will reuse this ADA soil that is currently in this tank, probably top it up with a thin layer of GEX or ADA soil to prevent cloudy water.

hey bro fireblade! nice to see that you're still in the hobby! No chiller, but the tank is in my room so there's aircon at night and i leave my door close during the day time with the fan on.. usually temperature hovers around 25-27C
