you can add in some water clearing solution or add in a sponge filter to speed up the process. Alternatively you can perform large amount of water change if there is no live stocks in it.
Hi,
Just started a new tank, added the Classica river gravels with a couple of rinses.
I thought that the filter should be able to do the rest of "cleaning up".
After some calculations, water in the tank should be cycled 4-5 times per hour.
At the back of my mind, i was expecting the "particles" to disappear within a day.
However, its been about ~3 days and the water is still hazy.
Two things that i am thinking:
1). Filtration not functioning as it should
2). Bacterial boom
I am not sure if i should continue to wait or should i start to perform water change.
Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi fireblade,
Thanks for the reply.
There's no fish in it at the moment (fishless cycle).
Water parameters (API test kit) as of yesterday
NO3: 10~20
NO2: 0
Ammonia: 0
PH: 7.6
I think i will go with large amount of water change as i was surprised by a PH7.6 reading last night.
Haiz, regretted adding gravels that were not well cleaned in the midst of fishless cycle
If its really due to the gravel, just add some water clearing solution as mentioned previously. eg. Tetra Crystal Water.
Hi Bryan,
Added more filter sponges recommended by lfs.
Water is sparkling clear now.
Thanks for your comments.
Next is PH problem, water from the same tap, but readings are just different!
present (old) tank: PH6.2
new cycling tank : PH7.6
giving me headaches..
Lower PH in the older tank is because of the organics that is in the water. New tank = all the water from the tap = no organics = higher PH. Don't stress yourself out
