Anyone can give some tips on planting stem plants in aquarium soil? Based on a past experiemce the water turned cloudy as soon as water was added. Do I have to do anything to the substrate before usage?

Pour the aquarium soil into the tank, plant the stem plants then flood the tank. If the tank turns cloudy, just wait a few days and let the filter do the work. It should clear up soon. Then add fish after 30 days once your bio media in your filter has completed it's bacteria cycle.

I doubt that the species of plant at the left is an aquatic one, will be checking for any melting that may occur

Should be rotala wallichii, Ive been reading up and many people have mentioned that it only does well in high tech tanks but it seems to be doing quite well in my tank. Just trimmed and replanted a few of the stems yesterday
