Hello people. I am new to this hobby. I have done a fair share of reading and decided to go for a DSM for my monte carlo growing. It already 30 days. However I notice some green algae growth on the soil line surfaces.will need some advise on should I get rid of it at the moment.

That type looks like Blue Green Algae (BGA) / Green Dust Algae (GDA). You can use the tissue paper to wipe it off. Try to keep your tank in good moisture but also prevent algae as much as possible. The plants look healthy for now. You will have a great tank soon. Cheers!

Thanks jacky. Yes I wipe them off using a cotton bud. I planning to flood the tank soon. I am thinking do i use some flourish excel to clean this algae?

Re: Dragon rocks and monte carlo

Yes, you can. Flourish excel is one kind of bactericide, which can use to kill BGA (BGA is bacteria, not really algae).
But be careful not to drip too much that might affect other plants.

After 30 days the roots should be spreading quite nicely already. IMO, you can do flooding anytime soon. :-)

Looks like u are using the original LED that came with the tank right?

If so, then the lights would be harder to reach those 2 corners as the rocks might block the lights. You might consider replacing the lights or bring the ground higher.

I find it weird and off centric to have only 2 corners with tall plants.

Yes. The tank is a fluval spec.. comes with a 7k lumen LED light. I also think the light spread is not wide enough to cover the ends.

As I suspected, your lights not strong enough. Thats why your mc are growing tall. U might wan to consider modifying or replace the existing light

I believe beams work would do the job and affordable. My friend used to have the exact same tank as u and was recommended by the owner to use that light.

Re: Dragon rocks and monte carlo

Oh my, those dragon rocks are amazing! They look like another planet’s terrain.
    Where did you get them?
I like weird and unusually-looking stuff in my house, and it would be really cool to get my hands on a few rocks like that. I already have a huge amount of dragon stuff from https://dragon-vibe.com/, but I need more. I want my entire room to be filled with figurines, toys, pictures, and other stuff that most people would call unnecessary and throw away.
So, it would be really cool if you shared the source where you got these rocks from. And please tell me they are not made of plastic.
