Hi everyone as i am new in this forum, please guide me along the way with some tips and tricks about Aquascaping.
I am not a newbie though.

Has anyone tried mixing Seachem Flourite black as the base susbstrate and ADA Amazonia soil as the top substrate?

    Best regard,

Not an exact amswer to your specific question.
But I will usually have my base fert (jbl) and top up with layer of lapis/ada and more recently tropica aquasoil.

If you are mixing 2 top layers, usually it's about aesthetics. Example i would not mix lapis sand and ada/tropica as it will have a messy feeling for me.

When I google, the sea chem flourite black will add a tint of black to the dark brown ada. Ada is round, seachem is more sharper. Not sure about sea chem but ada is pretty loght. So as top layer is ok. The other way round might not work

So it is alright to use Flourite Black as Base and ADA Amazonia Soil as top layer right? I was thinking about Flourite black providing Calcium,Iron and Magnesium, Amazonia Soil provide nitrogen to cycle the tank and easy planting. Flourite Black helps increase PH and ADA Amazonia helps decrease PH.

If you are just starting, my advice will be to try out.

My best results have been jbl base fert with top layer lapis.
And after that i tried ada soil. And now i am trying tropica soil.

Dont be afraid to try new things out.

Alright i will try it out. How is Tropica soil? wanted to try it too since cheaper than ADA soil.

So far so good. But i have used it for less than a week.
No cloudiness so far. Water cleared within a few hours.

I'll update in a few months under my thread in the aquascaping section
