Good day, can anyone enlighten me what are these black spots found behind this aquatic plant?

Had this plant in my tank for at least 2-3 months.

Discovered these black spots last night when I was cleaning the tank.

I have no idea when did they appear.

They seem to be too uniform in patterns to be algae.

I have a pond snail in my tank, 4 cherry shrimps and 6 neon tetras. It is a small 25x25x25 tank.

    Thanks in advance.

Hello, if you are referring to the black spots in a line along the length of the leaf, then those are spores (like seeds).

Yes, this is how fern continue to develops in the tank. Very soon, you will see the small plantlets popping out from that spores.
You then can detach the plantlet and place it in other place for new plant to grow out. To create bushy effect, you can push the plantlets to the fern bushes itself.
