    Hello,

    Welcome to the planted hobby.
May I know how long ago did set your tank up?
    Is your tank fully cycled?
If it’s quite recent I’ll say that you need more plants.
Secondly, are you aiming for a Low tech set up?
Bcos I don’t see any co2 anywhere from your photo.

Hi, thanks for the quick response! My tank was set up on 12 june & its cycled already. Any plants you can recommend to add in? And yes low tech setup, I have seachem florish & excel. I want to try doing DIY co2 tho...

Doing a DIY co2 is risky if you had not done so. As the changes would be too drastic and your slow growing plants are unable to cope you’ll be facing algae issues quite quickly.
If u are planning to still have co2 in the future I would suggest having a fan or a chiller to go along.
Plants choice need to be considered along with your setup either being with or without co2.
With co2 you have to balance your plants choice with slow growing plants and those plants that are quite demanding pertaining to light, co2 and nutrient requirements.
As for Low tech without co2 your choices are quite limited to a group of plants but you can still achieve a beautiful planted tank.

Hmmm would algae eaters help with the acclaimation for the plants? Have 6 algae eaters right now. 3 otos and 3 Amano shrimps.

Plant mass should go along with these algae eaters.
    But yes they are helpful.

Break up the hairgrass, it's too thick. Space them out to help them spread.

I bought them in a metal plate with roots tangled on them... Would it be wise to cut the tangled roots ?

I like the way you placed the diftwood together with the rocks.
    The position looks good.

I am not sure if your moss and hairgrass can be healthy without
having the water chilled. I tried it before and both died after
    some time. But YMMV.

Hi! Thanks for the reply! For my moss it's honestly growing super well as compared to my stem plants ( photos attached to show difference). I'm thinking of replacing hairgrass with another carpet don't really like to look of it.... Any suggestions?

You can follow the tips here https://www.advancedplantedtank.com/...ng-plants.html.
However, I still think it could be a challenge without CO2.

Hairgrass is meant to be planted in soil.
If you want to keep them on the mesh then make sure to dose fertilizer.
If you want to remove the plants, cut the roots that are tangled.
It will grow back. Don't yank it off as it might damage the plant.
In fact it is encouraged to trim the roots before planting to encourage growth.
The mesh can be reused to tie moss instead.

You can try Helanthium tennelum or Monte Carlo as carpet plants. They are quite easy to grow.
Hairgrass also can thrive in a low tech tank but need much more time without CO2 injection.

Regarding your scape, I think you can thinner the foreground substrate and push the substrate higher at the back to create more sense of depth.

You can modify the outflow with a simple DIY as below to direct the flow horizontally.

How you attach the cup? Use glue? Never really figured how to attach in a way it's not permanent

There is many way to DIY it to fix it in one place. You can use the glue gun / super glue to fix it to. Otherwise, can use epoxy putty. Just need to take note of how to make it look good in your tank. The photo is mainly for the idea of direct the flow. Execute it is really up to individual
