Anyone can help?
Hi guys I just got myself garden soil coco peat and clay for a nano low-tech tank (45x20x30cm)
but quite confused bout the arrangement.
My intention is to build up 1.5" of soil capped with 1" or maybe less of black quartz sand
as for clay and coco peat do I mixed with the soil itself or should I arrange layer by layer
I seen some aquascaper did it in this way that is peat at the very bottom layer follow by clay then soil and sand?
But I thought coco peat main role is to improve the circulation of gases and water inside the soil?
The peat and clay itself how much should I add in is enough?

Are you planning to set up a natural planted tank? If yes, the coco peat should be layered under the sand. If you want to lower pH, just place the coco peat in a bag and place that in the filter or the tank itself.
Hi yes but I got a bit confused for the role of coco peat here. Unlike peat moss it is inert and dosent readily turn acidic in water column. It suppose to improve the circulation of water and gas exchanged in the soil as I mentioned before?
If it placed at the very bottom layer deplete the purpose?
