Shrimp eats leftover food but guppies will eat the shrimp babies.Otherwise I suggest otocinclus but all these contribute to bioload. If theres leftover food you are prob feeding too much.Common plecos that r cheap $3-4 grow very big.Best bet is starlight at $8.Also bottom feeders will not eat guppy fry as they inhabit diff levels in tank

    1. Bristlenose pleco is the smallest pleco i come across. Max size is about 4-5 inches. My small pleco grows really really slowly. I heard they will have growth spurt then will slow down again.
    2. Feed less man.
    3. No, unless fry intentionally go under the pleco's mouth.
    4. I bought the baby albino bristlenose pleco from clementi at around $3~. Adults are priced around $30. There are other colors with various pricing. It should be noted that baby ones, while cheaper, are less hardy so good acclimatization is crucial.

Answer 1: I personally keep small pleco called Starlight Pleco/L183, is an awesome and beautiful fish when it occasionally appear during the day but spend most of their time hiding.

Answer 2: Amano Shrimp,Pleco,Corydoras,Snails and any bottom feeder fish.

Answer 3: Basically any fish that can fit the fish mouth stand a chance of getting eaten. You need to do your research before buying it or through trial and error.

Answer 4: Basically all the ornament fishes are cheap, except some rare Pleco breed or Corydoras breed that can cost around 10 to 30 dollars each.

Re: Questions On Plecos And Leftover Food Fish Eaters

I've tried starlight plecos a few times, but could only find the very small ones in the LFSs. Worried that they would be a little too fragile to settle into my tank and confirmed, every time, the small pleco would die within a week. Not sure if it is due to it being so small, or if that type of pleco is particularly fragile compared to others. Just warning you, maybe would be better to go for something slightly bigger.
