    Hi, noob question here:

I have a 2ft tank with carpets on one side and some tall plants on the other side. My HOB filter is on the back of tank, carpet side, while my co2 diffuser is on the other side.

My HOB outlet is facing front, I thought this is a good idea to keep one part of my tank without current. The co2 diffuser is at the calmer current part of tank.

    1. Should I switch my HOB outlet facing my co2 diffuser so that the fine co2 bubbles can circulate better?
    - this would mean there will be no calm section in my tank.

    2. My co2 system is the disposable cannister type. It takes a long time for co2 to reach my diffuser, and if I turn on too much, the hose pops out. Any solution to this?

    Thanks a lot!! 😅

The hose should not pop out. Maybe the hose u use is wrong?

Is it high pressure Co2 hose? Try using a cable tie to Hold the hose down?

I will always put c02 at a place with heavy current for the best circulation. Otherwise wasted.

Anyway for 2ft quickly go get a canister filter...works way better than a HOB any day.

Out of curiosity as I can't find answer online, why would a canister external filter be better than HOB?

Because HOB filter usually smaller. So less space to have media if any.
The more media u have means the cleaner ur water will be...more good bacteria.
Also the canister being bigger will be able to turn around ur tank many times more than ur HOB anytime.
U can never over filter ur tank. Just watch ur flowrate. U don't want to make ur tank into a washing machine ya. Flowrate can be controller by taps or some sponge at the outlet. Or more media.
