    Hi guys, I'm new here.

I'm looking to take the top rim off my already stocked GEX Marina Low (60x30x26cm). Planning to do so with the water in my tank drained to the half mark to reduce the strain on the seams while operating.

Does anyone here have experience with derimming tanks, particularly with GEX tanks? Or would you guys advise against it due to the quality of their tanks, etc? Appreciate any thoughts or feedback!

U may end up with a leaking tank. I suspect the top rim is there for a reason maybe to reinforce the tank?

Why not get a brand new tank? Seamless type.

If cost is an issue I suggest u keep it as it is. Until u can afford a new seamless tank...is worth the money for the long run. If u took care of your Gex it can still be a hospital tank or sold for so mula.....not gonna be total lost.
