    Where is your tank placed?
How long did you on the light?
    Was there any substrate?

Could you share a pic of your tank?

You may need to use aquarium charcoal/carbon to absorb the yellowing compound . You should use aquarium charcoal/carbon for up to 3 days only , else the yellowing compound might again be released back into the aquarium water .

Was there filter? I only experience yellowish water in my fish tank that does not have filter. The reason was because the poo/uneaten food was left there and nature taking process.

If its brown water, it could be from tannings or aqua soil yet to settle. For this, the solution will be purigen or activated charcoal. Purigen will need to be “recharged” on a monthly basis. Activated charcoal will need to be replaced on a monthly basis. If this is the cause, it will eventually be cleared even if u decided not to do anything

The yellow water is from the drift wood. It tanning leaked. You will need to put purigen and change the filter wool.

After awhile the water will be cleared

Not able to see the last 2 pic but no need to change on a daily basis. Once a month is fine.

On a weekly basis, during water change, just rinse the filter wool with the tank water. This to wash out all debris/shit that have been collected.

Just be patience. Rushing will not do any good.

    Re: Yellowish Water

Filter wool does not remove the yellowing compound in the water column . You need to use something to absorb this yellowing compound from the tank water . Use charcoal/carbon in a reactor for an efficient method as 100% of water have to go through the reactor by connecting it to a different pump . If you are using a reactor , do not let the carbon tumble in the reactor as it will grind down to dust particle and enter your display tank .

    Re: Yellowish Water

I see. My bad as i did not see it properly.

Then your only choice is purigen/charcoal to remove the yellowish water. Like bro BFG mentioned, filter wool will not do the job to remove the yellowish water. Filter wool is to trap the debris.

Other than purigen and charcoal, alternative solution will be adding chemicals solution sold at fish shop that treats yellowish water.

With my personal experience, adding fast growing submerged plants do help to remove the yellowish water as well.
