Your Eustralis looks fantastic. Sorry to ask again, but what's your lighting and fertilisation regime?

    hi sesom,
I used to use 3 pcs of JKS 3 feet with 27Wx2 each.
cost me $115 each. modified 1 to take 2x36W with
e-ballast and another 2x36W is simply secured onto
an ikea sten 3' wooden plank and placed on top of
    the tank.
i would suggest you DIY. can visit Nature Aquarium
for ideas or help. Chan is pretty good with DIY
lights. Most of the light sets being sold there
has been modified with e-ballast by him.
if you have to buy ready sets, avoid oceanfree.

saw the set too. it's modified from the JKS that I have.
notice the housing looks aged. think it's from a used set.
but the PL tubes, wiring and e-ballast are definitely new.

    Hi Mok,

The Eusteralis stellata you passed me the other time, they are growing tall & the leaves are no longer as compact as before. Also the new leaves are sort of translucent.
    Not enough lights ?
I have 10x36W PL for my 6 footer.
Water column height is 19 inches. (minus sand)

    Any advice, anyone ?

    simon,
no, they don't. i have to trim the older leaves
frequently for it to stay low.

    nizz,
strictly speaking not 10hrs lah. i've 2 timers.
    2x36W+co2 from 1pm-11pm.
    2x36W from 2pm-12mn.
haven't tried the fiesta method yet. not much
algae problem except for spot algae on the glass.

    engchuan,
lights should be enough leh. my tank is 2' tall
too. water column abt 20". i'm no expert, it
just happens to be the few plants that grow like a weed
in my tank. absolutely no luck with glosso and mosses. []
unless it prefers higher temp. my tank temp is abt
    30-31C most of the time.

    mok, very nice tank.

What's the thing mounted at the right bottom of the back glass? I am learning now as I am going to setup mine soon.

    Thx.

    william,
i paid $500+ for the 3'x1.5'x2' with 10mm polished glass with cabinet.
was custom made by Sam formerly at no.2 ffr2. now at Aljunied.
have not visited him at his new place yet. it's called Sam's Fishy Business.
very satisfied with the tank but the cabinet could be better. Sam outsources
    the cabinets.

    dea,
only know it's Hygrophila corymbosa. not idea if it's the sticta variation.
    got it free anyway. []

    wstam,
what you see at the right bottom is the end of my ~3' spray bar.
it spans across the full length of the tank abt 2" above the gravel.
