Rotala macrandra 'narrow' leaf
Hi,
I got a bunch of Alternanthera Reineckii 2 weeks ago and planted them directly under the lights.
Till now, there are no sign of normal growth, in fact, some of the leaves are 'thining' away.
I have fertilzers under the gravel and also add in Red Plants liquid fertilzers.
I have 2x32W and 1x36W lights on my 4ft tank.
I do not think that my lights are strong enough.
Does anyone have any ideas of Red Plants that are easy to grow and does not require too much lights?
Thanks.
MS

Easy ones you can try.
- Red Lotus.
- Ludwigia repens -- underside is red.

Juggler's tanks
Are you dosing C02 and liquid fertilisers? If you do not have any of these, other red plants will also not do well
hey folks
i agree with red lotus, but "hong tai yang" aka ludwigia pantanal? i think the latter is a bit tough
but as some guru would say, once you get all the parameters right, there is never a tough plant

i still say go with the rotala macrandra narrow leaf... i have it in my low-tech 2ft tank..
No co2, no liquid ferts, no water change for 4 months already and still it grows well and red.. even the cut stalks are giving out small branches only after a week..
