The tadpole and the frog are the same. According to LFS the tadpole is from china. Size is around 1.5 - 2inch long. Have a reddish spot on each side of the head. The frog have red eye. BTW what should I feed the frog.

I am not sure about the species of the tadpole but I have definitely seen it at the lfs in front of 10Mile shopping center. I thought quietly to myself - Who on earth would buy these disgusting stuff!? The tadpoles are very big, about a fistful long, with developing legs

Poison arrow?? Don't think so, the frog is juvenile and is already 1inch long from head to butt. The tadpole is also too big for a poison arrow.

Hi Jack, from what i see, that's under the mantella family. They are quite reasonably big and when they develope from the tadpole stage, they're quite big. But as time goes by, the body size will go down to maybe 80%. This is natural under this genus.

Feeding wise, ya can opt for mealworms, those small ones or tiny crickets which ya can start them off with. For info on pinhead crickets, do pm me.

Another thing i would like to highlight is to take out that piece of metal gauze as it'll cause skin irritation to the frogs even if it's stainless steel. Minute amounts of it will cause the skin to have problems in the near future. So i suggest ya take out anything that's metal in tha setup.

Btw, they prefer more land area, so do provide a substantial area for them to bask on and to roam about. For water area, have just a small portion of it and also not too deep as they're not good swimmers.

    Regards,
    Phillip.

    Seems like M. laevigata...

It is a aboreal mantellas... So it might like some woods, branches, twigs for it to climb??
