Hope you're not refering to Roses? during a special occasion! Of course they're some exceptionally expensive (like you mentioned here) but generally they're cheap and easily available.

Hate all fast/messy growers and stem plants.

Love most slow/neat growers and creeping plants
Oh, the rare old Whale, mid storm and gale. In his ocean home will be. A giant in might, where might is right. And King of the boundless sea.

Hate riccia because it always create a mess for me to clean up. Moss also, it keeps dying.

Love all amazon swords, Osiris, Ozelot, Horremanni and 'ruben', fell in love with them when I was visiting juggler's website.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

Err...no loh...i dont think he was refering to roses...

There is one aquatic plant i know that is like EASILY $50 a stalk.. and not really easily available.. of course i think you meant generally..heehee..but i dont think stem plants are "cheap" seriously..there are so many out there that can just make you seriously broke with just 5-6 stalks..

    Love:
Hygrophila corymbosa "Compact" - fantastic compact look that do not grow too fast. No need to uproot and replant, simply snip off the top and the bottom grow even more compact.

Hydrocotyle sibthorpiodes - lovely looking round leaves. I have not been able to grow this plant until recently, surprisingly, in my non-CO2 tank.

Most Cryptocorynes - easy to grow plants that doesn't need much maintainance.

Elatine triandra - used to hate it for the uncontrollable growth until I planted it in my non-CO2 tank.

    Hate:
Glossos - don't know why... just don't like it.

Wow... So many people hate riccia?? I always wanted to keep riccia in my tansk but never been able to... GenX's Thomas also told me to stay away from riccia... Tot they look really nice in Amano's tanks... Now really wonder whether I should try them at all!

Love Java moss, they might be untidy when growing wildly but hey, they can grow in almost all conditions! As long as they are kept cool...

I used to love hygrophilla polysperma... then realised they can be very messy... Thinking about pulling them all out now...

I also love hygrophilla diffomillis (sp?) cos of the shape of the leaves, esp if they are trimmed to be bushy...

Another love is the crypts... I tot I killed them... then after several months, they grow back! And they are pretty...

Another love is the swords... Beautiful and elegant... Ahh...

Hate? Not really hate, just dislike... I dislike those plants whose leaves will grow and grow and grow and grow... eg. Vallis, Saggis... Actually, the saggis are rather ok, but once you cut their leaves short, they dun grow, but they grow new leaves that grow and grow non-stop... Ahh!!!...

Love all the plants but I guess my all time favourites are bolbitis and mosses. Only hates lemna, riccia, monosolenium and utricularia when they appear in some of tanks which I do not want them to appear. Afterall I do keep lemna and utricularia which are considered pest and worthless plants in certain tanks. For me, utricularia are interesting plants afterall. Lemna provides yummy food for herbivores.

    regards,
    JS Tan
