cool idea,
but ex.... rite?? normal ones for DIY cost $5 dollar each, this one.......???
and more energy consumming too....but good to try, think will have a wonderful effect
Imagine if I use 4 pieces of PC cooling fan with blue LED light (as photo) for 2ft tank, it can actually double-up as moonlighting, specially useful for Pleco's tank?
One stone kills two birds...(cooling and lighting together) interesting ! Anyone try that before ?

I saw in Sim Lim the other days, selling less than S$10 per PC fan, consum less than 2 watts. That means, in total less than S$40 to invest and consume less than 8 watts. Certainly, I will try it on my Pleco's tank...Originally Posted by taz_boy

My concern is the evaporation rate, plus how do you compromise between the direction of the wind and the direction of the light beam?
Oh, the rare old Whale, mid storm and gale. In his ocean home will be. A giant in might, where might is right. And King of the boundless sea.
Yes, that is another problem need to be considered but I will get this one for my Pleco's tank and like the 'blue-lighting', seems cool...Originally Posted by crandf

hi,
what about getting LED light only? i'm sure its diy-able. but i am not talking about those marine "moonlight". that way you can have "moonlight" without having to cool the tank at night.
just a thought

Well, that will do, may be 2 PC fan and 2 little LED lights?Originally Posted by gregorsamsa

i bought one with 3 different coloured lights hidden at the sides without knowing.
never notice the packaging, take and go cos in a rush.
got quite a "shock" when i hooked it up.
now my room looks like a disco when the room lights are off
your blue led fan definitely look much cooler
Cheers,

you could separately wire the FANS to a switch..that way..when you want to see the fish at night but dont want to cool the tank cos the surrounding si already cool..you can just switch the fan off..but the LEDs will still be on..
Certainly would try this and it's quite cool..all the blue light..Originally Posted by ranmasatome
