nope... u shldnt experience any deaths.. may be due to other water conditions.. how old is the tank? PH/KH/No2/No3/ temp
I have experienced this occurrence twice and would like to seek confirmation if anyone else has experienced it. Whenever I add beneficial bacteria supplement (be it Dennerle or Oceanfree brands) into my two tanks...it will cause a high mortality rate among my shrimps...be it Malayan or Bee. I am beginning to wonder if there are elements contained in the beneficial bacteria supplement that is harmful to invertebrates.

For my main tank:
Temp fluctuates between 25-27 degree (Chiller)
PH fluctuates between 6.6-6.7 (PH controller)
KH is 4
NO2/NO3 - with the Tetra test strips - insignificant levels
Please correct me but the water parameters appear to be OK. Shrimps were doing fine until I added the beneficial bacteria supplement - happened twice already. Hmmm...

has to be the bacteria
maybe what happens is the bacteria metabolises the free ammonium into nitrite, which could kill off the shrimp more quickly than the fish, as they are more sensitive
