I have just read an article on subtrate heating from George and Karla Booth's website. It seems to indicate the importance of subtrate heating, because of the water movement through the subtrate.

I know it may seems to be plain stupidity for most of us in Singapore to think about heating the aquarium?!! but has anyone tried it before with good result?

I think there was an earlier post somewhere on the effectiness of it. There was no conclusion on it. Based on the $ spent on it, you might as well save it for a better filter, lights, CO2 system, fertilizers, plants or livestock since many people have been achieving good results without the apparatus. I believe the majority of the hobbyists here do not use it, as well as the seasoned planted tank enthusisats!

    Cheers!
