which ones? the 3 striped or the 1 lined pencil? I experience better result with the 1-lined pencil.. but all those i got, will eat algae (jus a matter of efficiency).. I got 3-striped, 1-lined & 1-striped
I thot Pencil fish ate hair algae?
Recently bought 10 Rocket Pencilfish from Gan's to eat the hair algae in my tank. Unfortunately, they are not doing their job even though I'm not feeding them.
Did I buy the wrong species of Pencil fish for the job? Which species will be more effective?
Thanks.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

out of the 15 dwarf pencil I got from Gan, only 1 of them showed any interest in looking for algae. This fish also have a paler and fuzzier stripe compared to the rest (and flatter tummy). Maybe it is a male (but the colour less nice) or malnourished through eating only algae?[:0]
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

first time i heard the term... I supposed its the one-lined pencilfish.. another common name is "Jockey stick"
try an array of diff species..
choy: if one of them interested in algae, then the rest will follow suit
not so leh, so far only one weirdo go for algae, the rest prefer to fight it out with the dwarf neon rainbow for flakes []----------------

choy.. u may not witness them eating algae, but if one of them does that, chances the rest will do the same & dun expect them to do so, when u r ard
well it is true that recently my BBA has almost completely disappeared but don't know if that is due to the new additional SAE.
