Maybe the other one is harassing the other? I have 2 otos...both gets along fine. Pale usually is a sign of stress (which you probably know). He is not happy about something.
Hi guys, need some advise here.
One of my otos is turning pale and I do not know why. Is it falling sick? It has been in my tank for more than a month. The other one that I have look very healthy though, still very black. All my other neon tetra, rummy nose, cherry shrimps and yamatos are fine.
I just bought a test kit and measured my water parameters yesterday just to make sure the water's fine:
pH - 6.6
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
GH - 17.9 ppm to 35.8 ppm
Would appreciate very much if anyone could enlighten me?
Thanks in advance.

Baranne, it's probably that it is time for the otos to retire. I experience it before.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
The new one was introduced about a week back and they seemed to get along pretty well. Shall monitor for a few more days and see how it goes. I believe my water condition is ok right? I do know that pale is a sign of stress but no idea what could be causing it.
Sure hope it's not time for it to retire yet...
anyone knows the lifespan of an otto?
I heard about 2 years...from a friend. May not be accurate ...do a search on the net.
