I've not tried growing any eriocaulon sp. from LFS. Maybe they sold you a freshly picked emersed plant. Probably needs some extra attention in trying to acclimatise it to be truly submersible.

If they grow antenna, the chance of them dying is very, very high. submerse form gujing propogate by splitting. ie, the plant will split into 2 or more plant. If they grow antanna, they are trying to flower and in nature they will die after they flower.
Maybe you can pluck away the antanna when they start to form to prevent them from going to the flowering phase. But if all the leave have been converted to antanna then there is little chance you will survive.

    Hi all,
My experience on Gu Jing, eriocaulon sp.

Emersed Gu Jing is real hard to convert to submerge.
Survival rate is quite low, got 5pcs emersed form all didn't make it.
Then got 2pcs submerged form both survived, after some initial melting.

I have successfully propagated more than 20+ gu jing, maybe I'm just lucky.
My tank's water parameter as below:
    KH 3-5
    PH 6.6-6.8
CO2 is a must and in good range
    Temp 26.5-28 deg C
    Base fertilizing is also important
    Lapis substrate

When my gu jing propagated, I observed 2 things:
    1) Just added some root monster to it
    2) Temp is only at 27.5 deg C (by fan); chiller to bring down temp to below 26 deg C is not necessary though somebody claimed Gu Jing will propagate at low temp.

See attached link on my Gu Jing. Free advertising for my sales too

Some of my friends claimed that once Gu Jing got antenna, it is already quite old, maybe it's the last burst of fire before calling it a day, I guessed.
So far all my Gu Jing got no antenna, Heng ah.

    Regards

Yes, They may still die bit chances of survival and splitting is higher.
