Are you using aintic blue lights for your tank? How come the second picture looked so blue?

It is a nice, simple and low maintenance tank [].

What a nice low-maintenance tank! I like the effect of your blue light tube, is it Actinic? Could you show us your tank data (such as tank dimension, lighting, filter, waterchange interval, temparature ,kH value, fertilizer, CO2, flora , fauna, etc)

IMO, if you could add in more C.balansae at the right of background, and some C.wenditt at the left, the result will be even greater.

    Thanks.

All the 3 side is cover with spot algae. I dun clean them. Only clean the front side.

The tank is quite old liao. A few year. But I redo the foreground plants by placing some glosso.

No lah. Just using normal FL light. I think the blue color thing is caused by the camera setting.

    Thanks.

The blue tint is caused by the digital camera setting. Using normal FL light.

    tank dimension: standard 3 ft
    lighting: 27W*2 + 20W*1
    filter: Fluval 303
waterchange interval: 3 week if I am free. :P
    temparature: 27-30(using 2 DC fan)
    kH value: abt 4
fertilizer: 5 drop of PMDD daily
    CO2: 1 bubble/sec
flora: Crypts Balanse, Crypt wendtii 'green', Crypt wendtii 'Tropica', x'mas moss, java moss, glosso, Echinodorus tenellus, Microsorum pteropus 'Windeløv'

fauna : Rosy barb, SAE, cardinal, malayan shrimp, puffer
Not adding more balanse as it will block more light . The left front is reserve for glosso that is still not covering the gravel.

juggler, harlequins these days don't seem to be as nice (nor "red" leh).

binbeto, if cardinals die of old age, buy some more lah! imho, they're the best-looking in planted tanks.

oh, you want "good as well as bad" comments?

    good: very nice tank
    bad: ... i jealous lah![] [] []

anyway, how about 70% cardinals with 30% harlequins?
    P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.

Have thought of harlequins but think they will grow too long and make my tank look small.. Then guppies also not nice... haiz..

Anyway, this the 2nd and 3rd generation of cardinal liao. The 1st generation have all die of old age. The 2nd generation is left with half of the original popualtion.

Thanks coryfav, you can have a good tank too.. dun need jealous.

Power to the white cloud mountain minnow!! hehe... tiger barbs will do well too. I think that fish is simple underated. Have a small group of 15-20, will do good with yout setup. Come on, break from the usual dude, cardinals are common, nice lah, but it's a different thing when every single car in the world is a porche you know.

Then there is always discus... hehe..

oh yeah, white cloud mountain minnows!!! i forgot about them cos my tank temperature not too suitable for them, about 28 degrees. they do best about 25 or 26 deg, or lower.

try to get the long-finned ones, super-nice! so far, i got from tiongbahru, both shops cos not easy to find these around.

White mountain minnow are nice.. esp in a group. But think quite difficult to find a goup of them that is healthy. Not much LFS carry them.

Then, there is sparrow fish, heckel fish.

Discus is nice but with my rather small tank and not much swiming place. can only have max of 3 or so... Haizz.. If my tank is like 4ft. will add in discus..

With so many luo han selling, not much place for other fishes for sale...

And I choose cardinal is becos, gan is selling them at 50 fish for $30. Not much fish have this discount if you get from LFS.
