    Hi,

I have this problem, everytime i clean up my planted tank (2ft), the water is always filled with sediments. Please advice on how to make the water clear and free from sediments. Thanks

Any idea where these sediments come from? The tap water or stirred up from your substrate? We need to know, so we know whether to tell you to prevent it or clean it.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

    Hi Vinz,

I think it may have come from substrate. I may have disrupted it when i re-scape my plant tank.

Errr... still quite vague. How do the sediments get stirred up? Do you mess with the substrate when you change water/maintain the tank? Or is it due to the water from the hose when you top up, or do you pour water into the tank via a pail?

Anyway, try to avoid stirring up sediments from the substrate by controlling how you top up water. There are several ways to do that.
    1. Cut a hole into the bottom of a plastic bag and stick the hose end through it. Secure with a rubber band. Stick that into the tank and make sure the bag is spread out and not pointing into the substrate. When you turn on the tap, the water will not disturb the substrate.
    2. Place a flat plate or bowl or similar on the substrate and make sure the water hose points into that when you top up.
    3. DIY or get a custom made water changer. See the image/post by Juggler.
    4. If you pour from a pail, hold a bowl or cup under the stream of water.

If there are a lot of loose sediments/debris on top of your substrate, siphon them out when you drain the tank.

If you uproot plants, it's a good idea to turn off the filter. First, you do not want all the substrate that floats around to enter and clog your filter. Second, the lack of water flow will allow the sediments to settle in a small area which you can clean by siphoning.
