    Hi,
Can someone help me to identify what kind of ram this is? Appreciate if can give details for feeding and water condition suitable for it.
    Thanks in advance.

That's a Balloon Ram. Its a man-made captive-bred strain of the Ram with a shortened body. They'll feed on flakes, worms, sinking pellets.

Easy to take care but I'd rather have the normal standard Ram anytime over this unnatural strain.

    Thanks Stormhawk.
Did suspect that it is a man made cross breed. Bought it at the insistance of my daughter who found them cute. Looks like a cross between a ram and parrot fish, angel fish or discus.
    Regards.

Well if she found it cute then its good. Most people tend to buy cute fish the first time round. The Balloon Rams are quite interesting in their own way though.

By the way, you could try to psycho her the next time you come across those normal Rams and tell her how cuter these fellas would be compared to the Balloon Rams.

They will eat almost anything. Normal Rams Supposed to prefer soft water on the acidic side. Lately have found it quite hard to find the normal rams. Anybody seen some normal ones lately?
