did you introduce any plants into your tank recently?
snails are 'appears' because some snail eggs 'hitched a ride' on some newly bought plants.
snails don't appear due to nutrient imbalance.

If you not intending to bred any shrimps, then you can try puffer or ruby tetra (my own opinion) as I also got snails infesting my tank but after putting in 2 ruby tetras, all snails disappear in abt 4 weeks.
Other than eggs that sometimes comes with the plants. You can always inspect and wash eggs off before putting the plants into the tank.Originally Posted by taz_boy
I usually siphon them off, they usually comes out an hour or so after the lights are off. After a few rounds, the population should dwindle to a point where they are not that noticeable.
Over feeding can also cause an explosion in the snails population. I don't like puffers, they are tails nippers after they finish or lose interest in the snails.
A similar question on snail? how long can snail egg "hibernate" before the snail are hatched;
I used to have a puffer that snipe all my snails over a 1 mth period; For the next 4 mth, there is no more snail in my tank, and I quarrantine my puffer after that for another 2 mths;
During the quarrantine period, I did not introduce any new plant, or change any water at all. But recently, i spot one to two snails crawling around. Where could they have come from - hibernated snail egg?
any bros have similar experience?
