I like the head shot... Makes the fish looks very cute... Keke...

Would 8cm be a baby for a Channa sp.?

this guy supposed to go up to 17cm SL (standard length, i.e. snout to caudal peduncle) which is a dwarf as far as Channa's are concerned.

That's a dwarf, alright... No wonder he's rare... Small and yet somewhat attractive and yet a predatory fish... Hmm... If only I can have a whole flat of tanks to keep... Keke...

    Ahh!! Not my guppies...

Justadded 2 females for my 2 fighting male guppies... Dun think they will over produce... Usually by the time I discover the babies, there would only be a couple left... Some more there are Danios and Boraras in the same tank...

Aiyo! If choy's work is less than excellent, then the rest cannot make it. I doubt anyone can do better than Choy with his trusty Canon Powershot G5.

On the subject on the eyes, interesting.... Is it some kind of growth? Or does the marks only show up when flash is used? Perhaps it's some kind of indent for improving scope of view for predators, like the eyes of a dragonfly.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

benny, do you find the colour rather warm (reference to the lapis gravel)?

More flash positioned at 45 degrees angled to the front glass pane will get rid of the yellow cast on the subject as well as the shadows around the lateral line area.
