Hi. Currently, my planted 4'x2'x2' tank houses several apistos, alot of (fat ) cardinals, some black skirts (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi), pencils, cherry barbs, loaches and some Dario dario. Besides those, there are 2 SAEs, 4 otos, several Yamatos, some cherry shrimps and some snails. They look good but there seem to lack a focusing point/centerpiece fishwise...

With the black skirts and pencils getting on age and dying, I am thinking of adding 6 discus and a couple of Festive cichlids (Mesonauta festivum), but was worried about the lower temperature of 26-28C would not do them good. Would they be a good idea? I will be getting the cichlids small and let them grow on in the tank. If that is a bad idea, what bigger fish can I use as centerpieces?

I am also planning to replace the cardinals (when they kick their small buckets) with rasboras (either scissortails or harlequins or both) and have the intention of adding glass catfish too. Would this combi be good with the discus/festives?
