    Inject enough to get 30ppm of CO2 for your plants. Use pH and kH to measure the concentration of CO2 in your water.

    I can't give you the bubble count because I believe that bps varies for different tanks. A 20L of someone's can be on 1 bps and achieving 30ppm of CO2, but another person's 20L can be using 4bps instead.

    ppm = parts per million

    Just wondering. By pumping CO2 into the water, would that result in the water getting acidic?

    Thanks.

    OK.... can anyone enlighten. I was told the CO2 combines with water to form carbonic acid.

    As for the shrimps. Can they handle the slight increase in acidity?

    Thanks.

    of cos pumping co2 makes the water acidic...yes, carbonic acid is right.
    And for that reason, the ph will drop. Shrimps can tolerate ph between 6-7..in fact, some kinds do prefer "softer" water.

    Adding the catappa leaves also makes the water acidic..as well as wood and branches.
    if you can read this, you are too close.
