I’m still at a planning stage of setting up a second planted tank. Therefore would appreciate some advice. This time round intending to go for a non co2 planted tank. Some question I have:

The recommended dosage for Aqua is 10ml per 100litres water while Micro is one drop per 100litres water. Presuming this is with co2 injection.

For a non co2 heavily planted with 2 wpg of light, can I continue to dose Lush Gro Aqua (LGA)? If yes, as uptake by plant will be slower without co2 injection, how much LGA should I dose?

Do I still need to dose Lush Gro Micro?

Is lighting of 2 wpg (PL) too strong for a non co2 tank? Algae problem?

    Many thanks.

If not changed before, I think the instructions on LGA and LGM are:

    1) LGA - 1 to 5 drops per 10L of water once or twice a month
    2) LGM - 1 drop per 100L of water.

So I believe they are for non-CO2 tanks. So you can use this dosing method for your low-tech setup.

Your 2 w/g seems good enough. If too strong, can always introduce floating plants.

    Cheers!

    I have tried LGA only.

1 drop three times a week.
2 drops three times a week.
3 drops three times a week. (Algae starts to stain the tank walls)

for my 2 ft, or 61 litres tank, non-C02, Hygrophila polysperma-backgnd, with Sagittaria subulata as foregnd. And they are very dwarf! Nice!!

I find it best is 1-2 drops. 3 times a week.

I'm planning for H. polysperma "sunset" and/or "ceylon" as background. No idea yet on middle and foreground.

I read somewhere saying that the dosage of fertilizers must correlate to the amount of CO2.. Hence if it is an non-CO2 tank, we need to lower the dosage of fertilizers by quite a lot; considering the fact that algae bloom is still possible in a CO2-injected tank.

    regards
    Jonathan
