Generally, UVC not recommended for planted tanks. Supposedly, UVC can destroy some of the nutrients that the plants need.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Thank you for your information.
Heard from someone that uvc will help to maintain the good bacteria in the tank. Correct me if i m wrong.
Anyone using it?
Hi Moss Guy,
I think pretty much no bacteria will survive under Ultra Violet treatment. I think I read somewhere that UV will neutralize the liquid ferts in the water or something like that. It will also clear algae spores.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
Hey i heard that the uvc doent really clear all the algae and it can leak.....i was gonna get one but heard from one of the moderators that it doesnt clear algae in the aquarium only clears those in the pondOriginally Posted by michael lai
