Can you believe it? Today is my first time to visit a longhouse!

My friends & I went to a coastal area where only the boat can bring us there. The coastal highway which is linking this coastal area & the "outside world" will be completed soon.

Here are some of my photos taken just now :

    The boats

    Swiftlet

    Windows (Sebuyau's shophouse)

Forest fire at Samarahan. (caused by the farmers)

    River crossing

    A longhouse

    The kid of the longhouse

    The iban grandmom

    The chapel besides the longhouse

The spirit house (at the ceiling of the longhouse)

    Corridor:

The river mouth of Batang Sadong. The boat fare is RM4 per trip to Sebangan from sadong jaya.

    Another adventure!

Where did you leave the car if you can only proceed by boat? To be honest, after what I saw the last time, I realise that most longhouses these days are nothing like those in the history books. It's modern now, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sarawak Cultural Village will probably be the best place to see anything more traditional.

    Cheers,

p.s. That's an antique shell logo? Maybe able to fetch a tidy sum on Ebay.
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

looks like traveller's palm right? which is actually allied to the plantain (banana) and not a true palm.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
