    hi grey fox,

you can buy it...brands like nutrafin cycle etc. basically just filter bacteria.

to make it fizz, you have to make it happen. i had a 2x2htx1.5 ft tank at 60W no fizz for over a year. change bulbs to get more power[fl to pl] 72W and fizzzzz...ha ha... just ordinary phillips daylight pl bulbs. it's still only 2WPG, perhaps the ambient light or reflectors play a role too.

if you have doubts. it's a process of elimination. 20ppm+ co2 is enough already. 35ppm is probably wasted. i noticed pearling almost immediately when the balance is right but it also goes away quickly when the ferts run out. this in turn became a bga bba nightmare. so sometimes going slow is good...

surface skimmer...my fav is eheim. there is atman one as well. these are the two common designs

want to see them fizz quickly? cut a nana or any plant that u see with bubbles... sure fizz...

okay... gonna ask a more plant biological question...
i remember from primary school that the plant stomata is on the underside of the leaves... so co2 is taken in there rite? or issit the other way round? or stomata is on both underside and on the leave surface?

if it is on the underside, why is excess o2 normally since accumulating on the underside?

    What is a nana?

Haha, do you know the answer (testing me) or do you want the answer to that biological question?

Its ok dude. Anyways I notice some bubbles coming out already however not in a steady stream yet.

My bubble counter now is about 4 bubbles per second.... fish yet to pengsan... should I up the CO2 further?

for your purpose of testing try it...but be around to monitor the effect of a little more co2. could be catastrophic if you don't...

actually my question is indeed a question...
guess i should post the question somewhere...

    sorry grey_fox...

btw, from your other thread, you mentioned that your CO2 ppm is now 27-28 right? in that case, maybe you can up your CO2 levels more, since ur fish still looks okay... and btw, the more CO2 is dissolved, the higher your KH, so don't need to worry that your KH goes up... also don't need to constantly test...

    test kit expensive... =)
