why? when you go to www.fishbase.org you get a query page, just fill in the fields you wanted to know. e.g. you want to know about Rasbora species, so just fill in Rasbora in the species fill and it will give you a list of species. that's it!
Hi hi... Not sure where this thread belongs to... So, posting here... Choy suggested using FishBase and so I'd tried... But really dunno how to use the database... Any advise?

I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii
Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
hexazona · crumenatum · Galleria Botanica
Hmm... When I enter species is 'Stiphodon elegans', it says error, when I enter species is 'Stiphodon', it also says error... I tried using 'contain' also... Cannot leh... Hmm... Maybe I try with other species names first... Btw, FishBase seems to be very slow to load eh?...Originally Posted by hwchoy

Stiphodon is the genus name, elegans is the specific name.
Okies! Will try again... When the fishBase page loads, that is!

FishBase lags every now and then. The information is useful only if you are intending to learn more about the morphology and description data of a species, otherwise it'll come across as plain gibberish for casual browsers.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Sorry for my delay
I used FishBase every day and I love this search tool.
When you know the shape of the fish, you can do a search by indentification.
http://www.fishbase.org/identification/classlist.php
If you know the order of the fish, you select the order.
Example the gobies is a family of perch-likes.
http://www.fishbase.org/identificati...snum=6&c_code=
Family gobies : http://www.fishbase.org/identificati...&fins=&c_code=
If you know the sub-family or the genus of your fish, you select. http://www.fishbase.org/identificati...sortby=species

The researcher keith sent me a picture, here is the true Stiphodon elegans.
You also have a book that is very interesting that Professor Keith Philip offered me.
You can order the book if you want / http://sfi.mnhn.fr/sfi/6.livres/75-S...doPacific.html
