Here's a close up portrait of the saddle bill stock.

One thing about stocks is that they are tall and skinny. Composition is always a challenge, both in portrait and landscape format unless you can blur out the background completely.

I can't remember the name of this one. Got it mixed up and now I'm not sure.. Does anyone know?

Not exactly the most graceful presentation, but I thought the posture makes it interesting. These birds have amazing balance on one leg.

I like the curious posture of this one, but too bad the background was ruined....Shame!!

These sing really well and sometimes, they hang around outside my office balcony too. There's a pair outside now as I type this!! Unbelievable!

    Parting shot...

For those interested. These are shot with the Canon EF 300 mm F2.8 IS L lens with the Canon 1Ds MK2. Some are supplemented with either 1.4X and/or 2X teleconverters. Most of the pictures are cropped but some are just resized. Some of the subjects are shot through fencing and hence the strange fore/background.

All photographs were taken at the Jurong Bird Park.

    Hope you guys like it.

Pretty decent shots by learner, of course not comparable to benny's L lens . What's urs? EFs 18-55mm ? If that's so, I'm impressed
