I was heading to Tg Malim on 7am yesterday morning. Since it is Malaysia Independent day and traffic was very smooth. I was promised to the person not to tell the location. So, just some pictures to share. (Michael went there before...)

Found lot of fishes...betta..barbs, rasbora...etc. Plants like below..

Found this plant growing half emersed and totally emersed. With nice white color flower. Didn't take any.

That place full of hair grass. Took some. There are mosses too. But didnt take any moss.

Found some croaking gouramis, rasbora, barbs, betta in this stream.. Further up of this stream with more exotic fishes. Betta Livida... Was told by a friend. But part of it was dry and got no luck to get any.
    Found halfbeak and some catfish.

This small pond was isolated by the stream in dry session. Tons of barbs, catfish n channa. I released the catfish and channa.

This is the catfish...anyone help to id?

Eriocaulon species? It was grown on wet soil too.

I am from Tg Malim(SG PR now), how come I did'nt notice this place? (I still go back to my home town every chinese new year)
Anyone going to Tg Malim and have car problem, please let me know, my brother running a car repair and tow shop in Tg Malim.

When your car break down at odd places and time, and no way to get help at reasonable price, you know what I mean?

    cheers

    If you read it differently....
    I just mean to help...

There is not much plantation area in the town itself(the town is only 200meter long at most . I believe it should be around the outskirt of Tg Malim. At least 3km away from town.
By the way, they build a PROTON city in Tg Malim.

Everytime I went back, I usually comb the area. So far I have found:

    Blyxa Auberti
    Hair Grass
    Pellia
    And many strange mosses.

Eric, no worry. I know you are mean for help. Just pulling yr legs. Beside the plants you found. There are some crypts over there. But you must have very sharp eyes to see them. Coz the place which you never expecting them to grow. But they are actually growing there.

I've been itching to go on another collecting trip for quite some time. Unfortunately, time does not permit, probably till mid of next year. Shame.

Anyway, I enjoyed these wonder trip reports and pictures. Thanks!

Ammania is not native to Malaysia. The plant you took is probably some Hygrophila. The submersed weed you suspected is Hygro is a Najas sp.

Hi Dom, I like driving to Malaysia, esp those out-of-the-way places. It seems Tg Malim is an interesting place to visit. Could you provide some directions to get there? A GPS co-ordinates will be welcome too!! Tks.
