    Hi Guys,

While taking photos today, I think I accidentally tighten the neck of the tripod stand too much and cause the plastic to crack
It's a tripod stand that I got it free when I purchased my Konica Minolta Z3.

Not as sturdy and solid as those purchase stand but heck, it's free

Here is a picture of the damage.

Since the damage is beyond repair, and might not be safe for future use, thought of getting a new tripod stand.
Would any brand of tripod stand work for my camera or do I need to get from Konica?

Currently, the maximum height of this stand is about 100cm +/-
I am thinking of getting a slightly taller stand, more stable and sturdy

What do you guys recommend me? Would be great if someone can tell me the estimated price
If any stand will work for my camera, should I get a 2nd hand stand from ClubSNAP?

    Thanks alot for your help
    Regards,
    Izzat

Tripods are much easier to buy used as it's relatively easy to check for damages.

As for brands, there is no restrictions when it comes to brands. Get one that fits your needs and budget. Some of the more popular brands includes Manfrotto, Slik, Velbon etc. Prices starts from as little as S$30 to S$1500. Most entry level tripods will include a 3 way pan head whilst for professional series, the head will have to be purchased separately.

    Thanks Benny

What suggestion do you have for me? I am just going to use the stand to take photo of my tank.
Not doing professional photography, and my camera is so-so

Which shop do you usually purchase your camera accessories?
I heard that there is a shop in Ang Mo Kio which sells camera at competative prices, not too sure about accessories

*If this had only happened earlier, could have looked around at Comex*

The shop at Ang Mo Kio should be MS Color? If so, I have regularly purchased from them. Just go to them with a budget and they will be able to help you. Nice folks.

    Cool!

Just went to MS Color website, saw the cameras that they brought in, but did not show anything about the camera's accessories
Will pay them a visit soon, but I will spend some time in ClubSNAP to get some ideas or perhaps good deals
