Didn't the instructions tell you not to rinse it?

Don't rinse it. It's a blardy pain to shift it from your rinsing container to your tank when it's wet. Trust me on this one.

Just do a number of water changes during the first week, like ADA reccomends. I guess it's because the soil has lots of organic matter, and this leads to ammonia or whatever being released... I'm really not sure just do the water change

Should be in Equipment section right...

Never rinse it. You'll get a mud slosh.

Lay it down, put a flat piece of plastic on it, then introduce water into the tank, letting the water flow onto the plastic and NOT the ADA soil.

Your water will be really clear if you do it this way.
    Cheerio!

hi there, never rinse it as all the others have said, and i dont even think u need to do so many water changes. Just make sure you do not agitate the ada soil, and then after filling it, do like 2 - 3 water changes will be sufficient. Wait for about 4-5 days, water should clear up after that. So yup dont wash

Even if it does create cloudy water, it will go away over night.
